Daisy Evans from Sayers Butterworth, UK, spent 2 weeks in May/June 2025, at the MNSA office in Sydney, Australia, as part of the IECnet workation.

"I had a really lovely experience on the workation scheme, which I organised with MNSA in Sydney. From the start, MNSA were very accommodating with the dates that I was interested in coming and helpful with organising the experience. They were super friendly from the beginning and made sure to arrange calls with me prior to coming out to Australia in which they were willing to answer any questions I had and to also offer me any help with the process.

When I arrived, they offered me everything that I could need to ensure I was able to work effectively for my home firm (Sayers Butterworth LLP). It was a great way to learn about the Australian work culture and to network with people from the same industry. I was also able to learn more about the firm, the types of clients they work with, and the differences in the role of an auditor between the UK and Australia."

Frederic Borràs’s new Spanish-language book Pinceladas de Vida (Glimpses of Life) reflects on his professional journey and personal experiences. The Honorary Member and former Chairman of the Audit Committee shares memories from his long career, including leadership roles at KPMG Spain and the Institutes of Certified Public Accountants in Catalonia and Spain.

Introduced by the Catalan Minister of Culture, the book is described as a heartfelt account of Frederic’s life, written as a legacy for his family. Among its eleven chapters, he recalls his work with IECnet - developing audit manuals, promoting quality standards, and representing the network internationally - expressing gratitude for the opportunities these roles provided.

We are excited to announce the successful kick-off of our new Committees! These dedicated teams will help drive IECnet forward and provide valuable resources and opportunities for our members.

Our Committees and Chairmen are:

• Resources Committee: Andrea Manenti – developing IECnet resources (Financial, Human Resources, Technological & Digital, and Know-how).
• Education & Training Committee: Pallav Acharya – developing programs and training to enhance member skills.
• Business Development Committee: Redouane Stoti – expanding our reach, fostering partnerships and facilitate business opportunities between IECnet members.
• Audit Committee: Wassim Turki – overseeing governance, compliance, and organizational transparency.
• Membership Committee: Arigo Ploy – managing member engagement, recruitment, and retention.

We are confident that, under their leadership, these Committees will contribute to our continued growth and success. We look forward to your support as they launch their projects and initiatives.

During the General Assembly, the IECnet Vice Chairman presented the new board composition with Wilfred van der Werf-van Dijk as new Board member as the EMEA & APAC representative. This new composition reflects IECnet efforts to stay ahead of the network's challenges and needs.

Alpha Auditors (Greece) was elected Member of the Year 2025/2026. Dimitrios, Timotheos, Christina, Michael and all the team have stood out this year for their special commitment to IECnet and have organized a successful TEAM in beautiful Thessaloniki in September 2025. Congratulations, Alpha Auditors! 

Following the first day of the General Assembly, the second day offered a diverse and insightful program. The sessions opened with an overview of global real estate trends and a presentation on recent activities and developments with IECnet life.

The discussions then turned toward modern communication, highlighting what works and what doesn’t in social media, followed by a panel discussion on current HR challenges and how to balance candidate expectations with business needs.

The afternoon sessions explored the evolving role of AI in the legal profession and the management of mass passenger claims in Germany. The day concluded with an interactive speed dating session that encouraged networking and collaboration among IECnet members.

During the General Assembly, we welcomed Dimitrios Plastaras and Timotheos Vlachopoulos from Alpha Auditors (Greece), Balaram Vuchidi from Spectrum Auditing (UAE) and Vinayaka Hanagodu from 4i Advisory as new members.

25 September was IECnet Day: the network was founded 38 years ago. All members were invited to celebrate the day with their employees. With success! A lot of member firms sent their contributions: they celebrated with delicious looking cakes and muffins with the IECnet logo, video messages on all social media channels and VHM Audit even spent a day with residents of Interact Contour, an organization that provides housing and care to people with acquired brain disorders. Thank you for all your colorful and cheerful contributions!
